Blackburn Rovers star Ryan Nelsen admits it would be a dream to play in the World Cup finals in South Africa in 2010.
New Zealand clinched top-spot in the Oceania qualifying section last month, and are now just two matches away from booking their place in world football's premier showpiece.
"We are 180 minutes away from the World Cup and in better position that most countries," said Nelsen.
"We are an all right team and if we got there it would the equivalent of Brighton and Hove Albion beating Manchester City (in the Carling Cup)."
Nelsen joined Rovers in January 2005 on a free transfer and after just six months at Ewood Park was awarded a three-year deal.
He has made 87 appearances for the club and managed just one goal.
