Jermaine Jenas has backed manager Juande Ramos to turn Tottenham's fortunes around just as Fabio Capello has done with England.
Jenas, the 25-year-old midfielder, has noticed similarities between the two coaches after working with them both over the last year and then playing his role in the famous win over Croatia for the national side.
"They are very similar," Jenas said. "It all happened in the space of a couple of months, especially for the lads at Spurs with Juande coming in and installing his ways of playing and living your life both on and off the field.
"It has been the same with Fabio. I have been lucky that I have gone away with England and a few of the players were shocked with what Fabio wanted to bring in. But I was already doing it and it was no different.
"Maybe that is the way they deal with things on the continent."
Jenas has forced his way back into the England squad and after coming off the bench in Zagreb, he wants a regular starting place under Capello.
"I love playing for England, but you don't want to be a squad player who just sits on the bench every week," he said. "You get frustrated as a player and a human being.
"You want to be playing and I feel that is a good trait - to sometimes be angry when you are not playing. I am never happy when I am not playing."
Jenas has always had Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard ahead of him and now Gareth Barry is a feature in Capello's teams.
"There are many players who would love to have the opportunity to come off the bench and be part of the performance against Croatia," he said.
"I was lucky enough to be part of it and felt I deserved to be part of it as well.
"Whether Fabio Capello wants to put me on left-wing, centre-mid - I'm more than happy being part of a team that will get us to the next World Cup."
