Harry Redknapp fears that nobody will be able to make a success of the England manager's job if Fabio Capello fails to do well in the role.
England rescued a late 2-2 draw with Czech Republic on Wednesday and Capello's side have come in for criticism for their lacklustre display.
Redknapp, though, has praised Capello and he feels the former Real Madrid, Juventus and Roma chief is the man to turn around England's flailing fortunes.
The Portsmouth boss was an England contender after Steve McClaren was sacked in the wake of the failure to qualify for Euro 2008, and he has voiced concerns that other managers will struggle if Capello cannot succeed.
"The manager (Capello) is fantastic, world class," Redknapp told Sky Sports News.
"Whoever takes the job struggles. If this man can't get it right then nobody can. That is my honest opinion."
And Redknapp admits that he cannot understand why England are not a successful side.
"I can't pin the blame. Everyone has tried the England job. We have had great managers," he added.
"Everyone has had a go at it, nobody can make a success of it. I don't know the answer."
