The first match of the season has not been played but Chelsea’s Jose Mourinho is already making changes to squad.  Oscar has been handed the #8 jersey famously worn by Frank Lampard while Didier Drogba has taken the #11 jersey.

“I am very pleased to be able to return to the number 11 shirt and I am very grateful to Oscar for allowing me to make this change,” Drogba said on the official Chelsea site.

“Didier is a Chelsea legend and a senior player,” Oscar added. “I am happy for him to take the 11 and for me to take the 8. Lamps is another legend at this club and I hope I will be as successful in the shirt as he was.”

The move to get Drogba back in his #11 was not the only one.  Thibaut Courtois, returning from his loan spell with Atletico Madrid, will wear #13 moving Victor Moses to the #18 jersey that used to be worn by Romelu Lukaku.
