Djibril Cisse is not slowing down after announcing his retirement last October. The 34-year-old launched his own fashion brand, Mr Lenoir, in 2012 and has turned to DJing, opening the Mariah Carey show in Paris last week.
He wrote before the event, ‘I have the honour and pleasure to announce that I’m doing the first part of the great Mariah Carey evening.’ The evening took on added meaning as news came through the Carey’s friend, Prince, passed away earlier in the day saying that ‘Prince would want me to (perform).’

Cisse is well-remembered for his radical hairstyles, frequently sporting a Mohawk as he was for the show, and body tattooing during his career with the French national team and 10 club teams. He was part of Liverpool’s 2005 UEFA Champions League winning side, coming on in the 85th minute and scoring the 2nd penalty kick in the shootout.
He rose to fame, however, with Auxerre from 1998-2004. He made 128 appearances scoring 70 goals for the club.
