Stephen Curry led the Golden State Warriors to the 2015 NBA title, the team’s first championship since 1975, and has the California team in form to repeat starting the season with a record 20-0 record. The forward took time out of his schedule, however, to send Lionel Messi a signed #30 Curry jersey out of respect for the Barcelona forwards reaching 30 million followers on Instagram.

Messi has 30.2 million Instagram followers and posted to his stream the jersey for his collection. Curry challenged Messi to send him a signed Barcelona jersey once he hits the 10 million follower mark. Curry needs to do some promotions as he is sitting on 6 million followers. But that number will raise as the Warriors continue to impress on the court and with Curry in the news as some noted early in the season he was on track to make 400 3-pointers this season. The number is staggering considering the current record, held by Curry, is 286 from last season.
Muchas gracias al fenómeno @stephencurry30 por mandarme su camiseta firmada con el número 30 para felicitarme por los 30 millones en Insta. ¡ cuando llegues a 10 millones te mando la mía! ??? // Thanks so much to the great Stephen Curry for sending me a signed jersey to congratulate me for reaching 30 million followers on Instagram. Despite all the records he has on the court, Davidson College, where he played basketball in college, has said they will not retire his jersey or include him in the college’s Hall of Fame until he graduates. Curry left after his junior year to pursue his NBA career.
