For the first time in their prestigious history, Liga MX club Cruz Azul will be representing CONCACAF in the FIFA Club World Cup as winners of the 2013-14 CONCACAF Champions League, their sixth continental title all-time. The Cementers will wear special kits from recent kit supplier Under Armour for the international tournament.
The Mexican club and the Baltimore-based sportswear company had agreed to a deal back in the summer. They’ll be facing Asian Champions League winner, Australia’s Western Sydney Wanderers of the Hyundai A-League in the quarterfinals during the Club World Cup in Morocco on December 13.
Both jerseys have “Mundial de Clubes 2014” (Club World Cup 2014) on the inner collar. The home kit features a white shoulder yolk ending at the shoulders over a blue jersey, with red trim present on the mandarin-style collar, stripe under the yolk design, and sleeve cuffs. The Cruz Azul Cement Company appears as the club’s sponsor on the chest. The shorts have red trim at the very bottom, and the socks are blue with a thick white and a thinner red stripe near the top.
The away has a similar style, with some differences. The collar is blue with red trim, and there is no contrasting colored shoulder yolk. The sleeve cuffs are still red, and there is blue piping that seen on both sides under the arms, as they reach all the way down to the hem. The shorts are blue with red trim at the bottom. The socks are white with a blue and red stripe near the top.
