Clube Atlético Mineiro continued the defense of their 2013 Copa Libertadores title on Wednesday when they drew 1-1 with Paraguay’s Nacional Asunción in 2014 World Cup destination Belo Horizonte.
The one-time (1970) Brazilian top-tier or Campeonato Brasileiro Série A champions came to the attention of many soccer fans worldwide when they signed future legend Ronaldinho in 2012. The two-time FIFA World Player of the Year and World Cup winner went on to change the fortunes of the modest outfit and led them to their best league finish in over a decade when they place second in Série A.
Atlético Mineiro unveiled their 2014 home and away kits earlier this week following the announcement of a two-year technical partnership with PUMA.
The Atlético MG 2014 PUMA home jersey is in the usual black and white stripes of the club nicknamed Gallo (Rooster). The away shirt is mainly white with black accents. They are the first 2014 club kits to use new designs from feature unveiled during the firm’s series of national team uniform launches. In the case of Atlético, the templates are identical to those used for the Czech Republic 2014/15 home and away kits.
