Los Angeles star Landon Donovan would relish the opportunity for MLS clubs to compete in Copa Libertadores along with the best South American and Mexican competition.

The one caveat to his interest is a concern over the extensive travel required to make away games.

"(Playing at Copa) would be fantastic for us," Donovan told an ESPN Deportes fan chat. "The only problem is all the travel."

"It’s very hard to fly 8, 10, 12 hours for a Saturday game, but it's possible and it would be fantastic for us and MLS."
