Independiente strike ace German Denis has pledged his summer heart to transfer suitors Torino, saying he wants to be for the club what Gabriel Batistuta was for Fiorentina.

The Argentina international nearly made the switch during the winter window, but it was not to be - yet.

"In January, the transfer was delayed by a small sum of money, but I was seduced by Toro and I hope that they sign me in the summer," declared Denis. "I am ready and have told the (Independiente) president that I am leaving in July."

"I can guarantee the fans that I will work ferociously and will score lots of goals," he vowed, perhaps prematurely. "I want to be a key man like my idol Batistuta."
