With an action packed weekend came goals, goals and more goals. Here are the goalscorers and the cleats that caught our eye this week.

Bafetimbi Gomis (Swansea) – adidas X15

The tweet says it all really. Bafetimbi Gomis scored the winner in Swansea’s third straight win over Manchester United on Sunday. After a somewhat slow first season, during which he scored a paltry 7 goals in 31 appearances, Gomis has got this season off to an absolute scorcher with four in his first four. Gomis is one of only a handful of players in the Solar Blue adidas X15. The colourway was first debuted in last season’s Champion’s League Final and, fittingly for Gomis, was designed for players who shatter expectations.

Bakary Sako (Crystal Palace) – Nike Mercurial TechFit

Another huge result in the Premier League came in the form of Crystal Palace’s 2-1 win over reigning champions Chelsea. Front and center throughout the game was Palace’s new signing Bakary Sako, Sako signed from St. Etienne at the beginning of August and has now scored two in his first two games. On Sako’s feet were the brand new TechFit Mercurial Superfly. Featured on the feet of Alexis Sanchez in last week’s cleat spotting, the TechFit Mercurial’s features a super lush kangaroo leather upper without sacrificing the boot’s performance.

Bradley Wright-Phillips (New York Red Bulls) – Puma EvoSpeed

Bradley Wright-Phillips made it five goals in August with two in New York’s 3-0 win over DC United. Wright-Phillips has justified his new title as a DP this season and with 13 goals is edging towards Kei Kamara at the top of the MLS Top Scorers Chart. WP is a Puma man and, since January, has been wearing the red EvoSpeed 1.3.

Raheem Sterling (Manchester City) – Nike Mercurial Vapor

Manchester City’s new big money signing Raheem Sterling scored his first goal for the club in a comfortable 2-0 win over Watford. Sterling scored 11 in 52 appearances for Liverpool last season but one would imagine that his hefty price tag requires that he score a couple more this season. Unlike Bakary Sako, who opted for the TechFit Mercurial, Sterling stuck with the standard edition of his low-cut Vapor. The striking Hyper-Pink Vapor pink Vapor were released back in July to coincide with the start of the season.

Gareth Bale (Real Madrid) – adidas X15

It took 94 seconds for Gareth Bale to get on the scoresheet against Real Betis. Bale and fellow Galactico James Rodriguez played major roles in Real’s 5-0 thumping of Betis; a major win after a sluggish start to the season. With James in the adidas Ace, Bale was wearing the X15 in its release yellow/black colourway. Designed for those who create Chaos, it was the perfect accompaniment to Bale’s performance on the night.

Stevan Jovetic (Inter Milan) – Nike Tiempo Legend

Following on from his last minute winner on his debut, Steven Jovetic continued his impressive start to his Inter career with a winning penalty against Capri. Though early in the season, Jovetic will be hoping that his two goals in two games are a sign of things to come. On his feet were the Green Strike/Black Tiempo Legend IV, released in July to coincide with the beginning of the season and designed to stand out, just like Jovetic’s performance.
