An exciting week of releases was accompanied by a series of great cleat spots.

Cristiano Ronaldo – Nike Mercurial Superfly
Cristiano Ronaldo switched out of his bespoke Superfly colourway and into the recently released “Highlight Pack” edition of the boot. Featuring his now trademark lowered Dynamic Fit Collar, we can’t help but notice how similar this latest colourway is to the electric green Mercurial Superfly Ronaldo wore at the beginning of the season.

Paul Pogba – Nike Magista
Going against the norm is just what Paul Pogba does. While most high profile Nike players were switching into the latest “Highlight Pack” colourways, the Juventus star debuted yet another personalized Nike Magista. The French Start showed off his blue colourway with a white dynamic fit collar that blends perfectly with his socks.

Gyasi Zardes – adidas Predator Instinct
Gyasi Zardes was the only player we spotted this week wearing the brand new #therewillbehaters Predator Instinct colourway as he played a fantastic through ball to Clint Dempsey leading to a 2-0 finish for the United States. These cleats were released just weeks after adidas unveiled the initial batch of #therewillbehaters colourways, which we have since seen all over pitches throughout the world, this is definitely not one for the faint of heart.

Patrice Evra – Nike Magista
While Paul Pogba was lacing up a personalised Magista colourway, his teammate Patrice Evra was slipping into to the new “Highlight Pack” Magista. Coming in a predominantly green colour scheme that almost blends with the grass, this was one of four new colourways released.

Oswaldo Alanis – Under Armour Clutchfit Force
It’s not everyday that we spot someone wearing the Under Armour Clutchfit Force. Under Armour released its fit and feel oriented boot in the run up to the World Cup. The brand Under actually just released two new colourways for the cleat, but unfortunately we haven’t caught sight of them so far.

Danny Welbeck – Nike Hypervenom Phantom
Danny Welbeck was sporting the Hypervenom Phantom’s “Highlight Pack” makeover on his return from injury. The Highlight Pack was advertised as a cleat only to be worn by players in the Champions League knockout phase, such as Welbeck, but as will soon be revealed that didn’t seem to be the case.

Jesus Navas – Nike Mercurial Superfly
Jesus Navas is the latest player to switch into blacked-out cleats. The sudden switch suggests that Navas’ contract with Nike has come to an end, and we’ll definitely be keeping our eyes on him in the coming week to see what he wears next.

Ross Barkley – Nike Hypervenom Phantom
Finally this week, Ross Barkley made the surprising switch into the “Highlight Pack” Hypervenom. Last we checked Barkley and Everton aren’t playing in the Champions League knockout stage so we can’t figure out why he’s switched. Perhaps the great way it combines with the Everton home kit had something to do with it?
