It’s the most wonderful time of the year – for boot fans at least. With tons of releases to ponder, this week’s boot spotting was packed full of exciting new boots. Here’s the lot of them.

Fernando Torres – adidas Kaiser 5 Cup

We start off with the strangest spot of the week. Fernando Torres turned out for Atletico wearing the adidas Kaiser 5 Cup this weekend. Going against what adidas probably expected of him, to wear the bright new Predator Instinct colourway, Torres opted for the much more understated and one could argue, classier, white/black Kaiser 5 Cup.

Benik Afobe – Umbro Velocita

Coming in a close second was Benik Afobe and his Umbro Velocita. At the time Afobe was wearing them, the Velocita were a never before seen, yet to be released, boot. Umbro cleared up all confusing today with the official release of the boot – a next generation speed boot that may be exactly what the brand needs to revive itself.

Mesut Ozil – adidas Predator Instinct

Mesut Ozil scored his first goal since September as Arsenal suffered a bit of a scare against Brighton, eventually winning 3-2. As expected, Ozil was wearing the brand new #therewillbehaters adidas Predator Instinct. A particularly bold colourway released alongside the brand new adiZero.

Daniele de Rossi – adidas f50 adiZero

Speaking of brand new adiZero, Daniele De Rossi was an unlikely wearer of the new boot this weekend. The Roma man had previously been one of the faces of the NitroCharge, seemingly exemplifying the powerful box-to-box midfielder the boot was designed for. However, either he or adidas seem to have had a change of heart as he turned out in the exciting new f50.

Andrej Kramaric – adidas Nitrocharge

Leicester’s record signing Andrej Kramaric had an impressive full debut as his new club came from behind to dump Tottenham out of the FA Cup. As an added bonus, Kramaric was wearing the brand new Nitrocharge colourway – a great match with the Leicester kit if we do say so ourselves.

Cesc Fabregas – Puma evoPower 1.2

Cesc Fabregas and Chelsea had a night to forget as they were humiliated at the hands of Bradford City this weekend. The highlight of the Spaniard’s night was probably wearing the brand new evoPower 1.2, a boot released almost exactly a year after the original. Cesc is by all means the leading evoPower man so very much an expected boot spot.

Marco Reus – Puma evoSpeed 1.3

Marco Reus was repping Puma’s other release, the new Bright Plasma evoSpeed 1.3. Released alongside the new evoPower, Reus was one of many who switched into this new colourway. Expect to see the likes of Falcao, Aguero and Santi Cazorla also wearing this.

Ricky Holmes – Nike Mercurial Vapor IX CR7 Galaxy

Finally this week, Ricky Holmes reminding us that some of the best colourways out there are those that have already been released. Or, in the case of the CR7 Galaxy have already been released a long time ago. Released back in 2013, this surely has to go down as one of the best CR7 colourways released thus far.
