Wijnaldum’s four came during Newcastle’s crucial 6-2 win over Norwich, their first of the season. For Wijnaldum, wearing the blue adidas X15, the four goals lift him to joint second in the Premier League goal scoring charts with a total of six for the season.

Wilfried Bony (Manchester City) – Nike Mercurial Vapor

It was a comfortable weekend for Manchester City as they routed new boys Bournemouth 5-1. Wilfried Bony, a player who has yet to make his mark for his new club, was integral to the performance as he scored one and assisted one. Bony was wearing the relatively new Nike Mercurial Vapor Electro Flare, released a couple of weeks ago.

Wayne Rooney (Manchester United) – Nike Hypervenom Phinish

Elsewhere, Manchester City’s cross-town rivals, Manchester United secured a convincing 3-0 win over Everton. Significantly, Wayne Rooney scored his first goal against his boyhood club since 2007, with a well taken goal that was United’s third of the day. Rooney’s moved out of the limelight somewhat when it comes to Nike, but is still one of the brand’s most important players and was wearing the new Electro Flare Hypervenom Phinish.

Neymar (Barcelona) – Nike Hypervenom Phinish

The player who has taken over Rooney’s position at the head of the Nike Hypervenom silo is Neymar. The Barcelona man scored a fabulous four at the weekend as his side came from 1-0 down to win 5-2 against Rayo Vallecano, but it did wearing the Electro Flare Hypervenom Phinish instead of the Hypervenom Phantom II. The four brought Neymar’s total for the season to eight, also securing his position at the top of the La Liga scoring chart, two ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.

Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid) – Nike Mercurial Superfly

Speaking of Cristiano Ronaldo, CR7 officially became Real Madrid’s all time leading scorer with 324 goals, overtaking Raul. On another level, it was relief for Ronaldo who had failed to score in 399 minutes. Ronaldo marked the occasion by wearing the new Mercurial Superfly CR7 324K Gold, one of the two new cleats that Nike released in celebration of his achievement.

Dirk Kuyt (Feyenoord) – adidas Ace 15

Something of a blast from the past, Dirk Kuyt scored his first hat trick since his time at Liverpool during Feyenoord’s win at Heerenveen on Sunday. Wearing the adidas Ace15, Kuyt’s treble brought Feyenoord level with Ajax at the top of the Eredivisie table.
