A week of international fixtures gave us plenty of boot spots. Here are the best of the lot.
Aaron Ramsey – New Balance
The Aaron Ramsey boot saga has finally come to an end. The Welshman has been wearing a mysterious pair of white and black out boots for a majority of this season after ending his relationship with adidas, with no signs until now of who he is going to join. On international duty Ramsey showed up in a white out pair of boots with a big N label on the side, indicating that he is well and truly set to join New Balance. New Balance are set to take over the Warrior Football name, so Ramsey will be joining the likes of Marouane Fellaini and Vincent Kompany.
Wayne Rooney – Nike Hypervenom Phantom
The England captain played in his 100th game for his country this weekend and was sporting a customized pair of the Nike Hypervenom Phantom for the occasion. Rooney scored a goal in England’s win over Slovenia, capping off what was a memorable match for the captain.
Robin van Persie – adidas adiPower Predator
Robin van Persie has been in black out boots for the last month and a half or so, but looked to have switched boots while on international duty. RVP had previously been in a blacked out pair of the adidas adiZero, but looks to have switched into the adiPower Predator. While we must admit we are not 100% sure that he is actually wearing the adiPower Predator, RVP is known to be a massive fan of the boot.
Tameka Butt – Le Coq Sportif
Tameka Butt provided us with the surprise spot of the week as the Brisbane Road player turned in a pair of Le Coq Sportif (yes, Le Coq Sportif) boots. A quick look at the Le Coq Sportif website reveals that they do not mention the boot even once, let alone sell it, so how exactly she got her hands on these is a mystery to us. Nonetheless, a quirky looking colorway that we would love to learn more about.
Keisuke Honda – Mizuno Wave Ignitus III
Keisuke Honda made the switch into the soon to be released Mizuno Wave Ingitus III colorway for Japan’s 6-0 demolition of Honduras. Honda is Mizuno’s main man so it is little surprise to see him leading the way with this new colorway. Expect to see this one out early next year.
Olivier Giroud – Puma evoPower
Olivier Giroud returned to training after being out with injury since August. The striker made an interesting switch into the Puma evoPower after having worn the evoSpeed prior. We will be keeping our eyes peeled to see if he continues wearing the evoPower, or if this was a one time spotting.
David de Gea – adidas Predator Instinct
David de Gea added to Manchester United’s injury woes after suffering a dislocated finger in Spain training. We assumed that de Gea had switched to Puma, but the Spaniard was wearing the adidas Predator Instinct in training suggesting that the switch may have not been final.
Lee Casciaro – adidas Predator Instinct Accelerator
Finally, Policeman and international footballer Lee Casciaro provided us with a great boot spot, turning up in the adidas Predator Instinct Accelerator. Gibraltar fell only to a 4-0 defeat against Germany, which all things considered is a massively impressive performance against the world champions.
