Club Deportivo Guadalajara, better known as Chivas, have unveiled their home and away jerseys following last week’s announcement of a new partnership with Puma. The reveal was the first ever Chivas TV broadcast, and took place at the Chivas Stadium.
The new home shirt retains the essence of Chivas, with red and white stripes featuring a pinstripe effect on the red ones and dotted lines on the whites. The mandarin collar has navy lapels with white trim, closing on front with two red buttons. The sleeves are navy to create a classic look, the shoulders have red panels bordered by the Mexican national colors.
Chivas crest sits proudly over the heart, and three power cats appear on the chest and each sleeve, which also feature the Liga MX patch and Pepsi logo in white on the right and left, respectively. The back is mostly red to leave a clean space for player names and numbers. Eleven golden stars appear on the top, representing every league title won by El Rebaño Sagrado.
“It’s a true honor to join forces with a club like Chivas, with 110 years of glory and a fully Mexican team that has represented the country through the years,” said Mario Olvera, Puma Mexico General Manager. “We invite the fandom to get the jersey and feel what it embodies. We welcome them to a historic moment for Puma and Chivas.”
Away jersey showcases a bespoke design for Chivas, white body and a double sash in navy and red with internal pinstripes that runs from the let shoulder to the lower front. Chivas badge features prominently over the sash, accompanied by a navy Puma on its right. Sponsor logos and secondary detailing are featured in navy.
