With so many transfer rumours swirling around him this past season, U.S. defender Frank Simek remains focused on helping Sheffield Wednesday win promotion to the Premiership.

Recent talk has him currently in Aston Villa crosshairs, but the former Arsenal academy man has also been previously linked to interest from Everton and West Ham.

Despite the constant furor, Simek has signed a new deal with the Owls and is amping up for a new Championship campaign.

"It feels good that Wednesday have the confidence in me to give me the extension," the right back told Goal. "I will certainly do my best for them, but I'm the type of person that's going to give 100% no matter what."

"In regards to the rumors, people will come to you and tell you that you're in the papers or that a team is talking about you, but honestly, I don't read the papers or go out there looking for my name."
