Championship clubs Stoke and Plymouth Argyle are among a host of clubs keen to recruit the Blue Square Premier's top scorer Stuart Fleetwood.
Wales Under-21 international striker Fleetwood has hit a phenomenal 15 goals in 16 league appearances for Forest Green Rovers so far this season.
The 21-year-old only joined the Gloucestershire outfit in the summer on a one-year contract but has quickly found his scoring form for Rovers, who lie sixth in the table.
And chairman Colin Gardner has now revealed he has turned down an undisclosed bid from a Football League club for Fleetwood's services.
Gardner told the Stroud News & Journal: "I received an offer from a chairman of a league club, which has been turned down.
"The player was notified by (manager) Jim Harvey and we decided his future is with Forest Green.
"We want Stuart to take us into the play-offs with the rest of the team.
"He is happy and has stated his intention to stay until the end of the season. It will then be up to us to keep him beyond that."
However, Gardner hinted that an increased bid could change the former Cardiff and Hereford striker's situation, adding: "It would need a six-figure fee to move him."
