Irvine will be busy trying to bring in new players when he is away and will have the technology in place to ensure he can be easily contacted.

"The mobile phone will be going and so too will the laptop," Irvine told the Lancashire Evening Post.

"I had hoped for a little rest, but work will be going on all the time I am away.

"I would have liked to have sorted things out before taking a break, but it hasn't happened."
