Chelsea are confident their financial future is secure with Roman Abramovich as their owner. However, UEFA has warned clubs they may be excluded from the Champions League if their debt becomes a problem.
UEFA general secretary David Taylor has stated that they will look at different ways to address clubs who are running on borrowed money.
With the money borrowed from Abramovich the Blues were able to become a European powerhouse and chairman Bruce Buck is confident the debt to the owner will be available in the future.
Speaking on BBC Radio Five Live, Buck said: "We're very comfortable with the debt we have from Roman Abramovich in terms of its viability, its importance and its long-term availability."
UEFA are focusing on clubs heavily in debt and will have a rethink about their own club licensing policies.
Taylor said: "This is an attempt to find greater financial stability, especially at a time when banks are failing.
"Governments might bail out banks but they are not going to bail out a football club.
"We will not flinch if we have to exclude clubs from Europe's elite competition."
