Four Premier League teams and SPL side Celtic will discover their fate on Thursday when the draw for the group stage of the Champions League takes place.
Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal are the top seeds and will thus not be put in the same groups as each other, while Celtic could face one of the above sides. The 32 teams in the competition will be split into eight groups of four.
Scottish team Rangers failed to reach the group stage, while Liverpool nearly crashed out after narrowly beating Standard Liege late in extra time on Wednesday night.
After the group stage, the eight group winners and runners up will contest the knock-out stages and the third placed teams will drop into the UEFA Cup. The first matches will be played on 16/17 September.
