Jermaine Jenas has declared he believes Tottenham have the ability to challenge for a UEFA Champions League place every season.
Spurs have suffered dire starts to their last two Premier League campaigns but, with Harry Redknapp now at the helm, a Uefa Cup spot no longer looks beyond reach.
But Jenas has stated he is confident the London club can compete for a place in Europe's top competition every year.
"I think we should be targeting fourth or fifth every year," he said.
"The Premier League is so hard these days, but that's no excuse - we should be up there.
"Unfortunately, it hasn't happened for us this season, but we're getting there now.
"We've been getting big results against the big teams for ages.
"Chelsea haven't beaten us in three games, we've done well against Arsenal and Man United were lucky to get a draw here last season."
Jenas was a part of the Spurs side that finished in fifth place in the 2005-2006 season under Martin Jol.
