Japan is making their final preparations for the 2015 AFC Asian Cup.  Head coach Javier Aguirre named the 23-man roster for the finals which will be played in Australia between January 9 and January 31 and unveiled the team’s updated jersey that includes the ‘AFC Asian Cup 2011 Champions’ badge.

The gold badge is placed on the center of the chest between the adidas logo and Japan Football Association crest.

The other details of the jersey are the same as for the official 2014/15 jerseys which launched prior to the 2014 World Cup.

The Samurai Blue qualified automatically for his year’s tournament as the 2011 champions.  They defeated Australia 1-0 in added time to hoist the trophy.  Japan has won the tournament on 4 occasions.

Japan is in Group D along with Jordan, Iraq, and Palestine.
