CD Leganes is taking a new approach with their club badge in their debut season in Spain’s top division, La Liga.  The Madrid club along with technical sponsor Joma have included a scratch-and-sniff badge as part of the 2016/17 jersey.

‘Los Peperioneros (Little Cucumbers)’ took an interesting approach sidestepping the obvious scent to have this year’s badge smell like fresh cut grass.

“The idea fitted really well with how we see ourselves,” club’s marketing director, Daniel Abanda, told the official La Liga website. “A close-knit club, with a sense of fun, and with a desire to do things differently as we have been doing since we were in the Segunda Division B.”

“The response from the fans on the first day was spectacular with enormous queues at the stadium shop. We are where we want to be, we want to stay close to our fans and help make them smile.”

Who knows maybe fresh cut grass scent it easier to make than cucumber.  What scent would you have made the badge?
