2015 is a big year for Canadian soccer with the country hosting the 2015 Women’s World Cup and the men’s team competing in the CONCACAF Gold Cup and the 2018 World Cup qualifiers and on Friday the Canadian Soccer Association (CSA) and Umbro Canada unveiled the official home jersey that both teams will wear.
The jersey features an multi-tone red diagonal pattern on the upper chest above a white horizontal stripe that divides the jersey. The diagonal pattern gives the jersey more depth. The jersey has a white v-nec collar along with the Umbro logo over the right chest and CSA logo over the heart with both in white.
The back of the jersey is red with an embroidered Canada flag below the neckline. The lower hip includes the Canadian national anthem soundwave a unique feature to the Canadian jersey.
The jersey will have a very modern look with the exclusive ‘Les Rouges’ type face that was designed for the jersey. The type face was inspired by chiseled ice and providing a perfect touch symbolizing the strength and beauty of the team.
“Canada Soccer is thrilled to continue its strong partnership with Umbro Canada and celebrate Canada’s soccer heritage,” said Victor Montagliani, Canada Soccer President. “Our National Team athletes cherish the privilege to wear the maple leaf and represent their country, and we are excited to release this new Canada red jersey so that fans everywhere can wear their colours proudly as they stand behind our players.”
The new #CanadaRED jersey is available at World Soccer Shop.
