Last season’s Campeonato Brasileiro Série A champions Cruzeiro Esporte Clube have released a 2014 third kit that pays homage to the Brazilian national soccer team.
Provided by domestic sportswear company Olympikus, the new jersey uses the famed canary yellow of the five-time World Cup winners and 2014 tournament hosts. It is accented with dark blue in the collar and sleeve cuffs. The years of Cruzeiro’s three Serie A titles (1966, 2003 and 2013) appear within golden stars on the jersey’s inside neck area.
The latest Cruzeiro jersey carries a definitely old school flavor that reminds us of the football shirts of the 1960s and 1970s when the Seleção was widely regarded by many as the best team in the world.
Cruzeiro’s goalkeepers have been issued a third kit in the same design as the outfield player jersey but in dark blue with yellow accents.
Cruzeiro debuted their 2014 Olympikus third uniforms during Sunday’s 3-2 league win over Coritiba at the Mineirão Stadium. The win moves the club up to second in the 2014 Serie A table.
