Germany’s FIFA World Cup winning coach Joachim Löw probably did not know what he was getting into when he agreed to be a presenter at the annual Laureus World Sports Awards.

Löw was on hand to announce the winner of the Team of the Year award and with his introduction American actor Bill Murray first accidentally mistook him for ‘Sir Paul McCartney’ and then realizing who it was broke out in the Yogi Bear Song in a reference to the coach’s ‘Jogi’ nickname.

When Löw finally took over the microphone he announced that the 2015 Rugby World Cup winning New Zealand All Blacks were this 2016 winners.   But it was not a bad year for soccer as FC Barcelona finished in 2nd place and the U.S. women’s national soccer team took 6th place.  The other teams recognized where the NBA Champions Golden State Warriors, Great Britain’s Davis Cup team, and the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team.

Johan Cruyff was awarded the Laureus Spirit of Sport with his son accepting the honor.

Plenty of soccer players were on hand for the event with many taking to social media share the moment with fans.

The Laureus World Sports Awards were first held in 2000 with the organization recognizing remarkable teams and individuals from sports.
