United States National Team to be based at São Paulo FC’s training center
With matches in Natal, Manaus and Recife, the United States National Team will be be traveling at least 9,000 miles in their grueling Group G ties with Ghana, Portugal and Germany. However, they’ll find an extremely comfortable base to find in between matches at São Paulo FC’s CT Barra Funda. The team will train twice a day, and have meetings with the media. The accommodations for the beautiful training center are gorgeous and spacious.
Barra Funda was built in the 1980’s as a base for the club to prepare and where many out-of-town athletes live. This cutting-edge venue was completed in 1988. A new building constructed for media use was completed late last year, with a very modern interview room, and great views of the training center’s practices fields. The structure is 44,472 square miles of terrain located in the heart of downtown São Paulo. Many amenities await the Americans, including three practice fields, including a main field that has the same dimensions as the club’s hollowed ground at the Morumbi, two mini fields, plenty of suites, a lecture room for game planning, a pool room, a TV room, a video game room for the leisurely set and a state-of-the-art medical department with one of the best rehabilitation centers in all of Brazil.
São Paulo FC and CT Barra Funda has the United States National Team in comfortable care as the Yanks prepare for Group G with a June 16 matchup with Ghana. Their impressive features and overall appearance would make anyone want to go take a visit, with only the best professionals ensuring the US Men’s national team a very welcoming stay.
