Newly-crowned Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have released their new home jersey for the 2015/16 season. The title was their unprecedented 25th league championship. The Bavarian side debuted the kit in today’s surprise home defeat to Augsburg, although many first team players were rested ahead of their Champions League tie on Tuesday.
Bayern will also wear the new kit in that game against Barcelona and will hope it can inspire them to turn around a 3-0 deficit from the first leg.
The Bayern Munich 2015/16 home jersey features two tones of red, including the famous ‘fcb true red’.
The complementary tone of red can be found on the sleeve cuffs, the collar, and the adidas 3-Stripes that run from the collar down the shoulders and 1/4 way down the side of the sleeves.
Within the dark red hem is a diamond pattern which has been inspired by the club logo and the Bavarian flag. The diamonds represent the millions of fans the club has around the world. Bayern boasts the most members of any sports club in the world.
The adidas and Telecom logos are in white, alongside the Bayern crest.
The back of the jersey has ‘Bayern Munchen’ written in white text at the top.
Red shorts and socks complete the new home kit.
The new 2015/16 home goalkeeper kit is blue with black trim, similar to the kit that Bayern legend Oliver Kahn once wore.
With adidas and Bayern recently extending their partnership until 2030, we can look forward to many more kits in the years ahead. The 2015/16 away and third jerseys will be released in the summer.
The 2015/16 Bayern Munich home jersey and goalkeeper jersey is available at World Soccer Shop.
