Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli was today spotted wearing a brand new evoPOWER colorway, which if made exclusive to him could mark his arrival as the signature star for PUMA.

If PUMA do unveil Balotelli as their signature player the under-fire forward will have beaten off competition from the likes of Sergio Aguero and Yaya Toure, and the brand will be hoping he can find his shooting boots soon.

The design of the new evoPOWER cleat follows a similar format to the tricks collection that PUMA released for the World Cup. One boot is green and white, and the other red and white. The white half of each boot is on the instep, meaning that when placed next to each other they form the same pattern as the Italian flag.

Balotelli is expected to debut his new cleats when Liverpool host Chelsea in the early Premier League kick-off this Saturday. He’ll be looking for his first league goal for the Reds, and in the meantime we’ll listen out for any official announcement from PUMA regarding a signature star.

World Soccer Shop will have 45 pairs of the Puma Special Edition Balotelli evoPower 1 MB45 FG (the only ones in the U.S.) available on Saturday.
