Aston Villa confirmed the rumors that they were signing a 5-year technical sponsorship deal with Under Armour.  The deal runs through 2021 and includes incentives for the Villans to return to the Premier League.

The deal will see the Baltimore-based company provide the team’s home, away, and goalkeeper kits as well as their training wear.  The 2016/16 Aston Villa gear will be the first to include the new club badge released earlier this year.

It is estimated that the deal is on the high-end of Championship contracts around $2.65 million per season.

“We are delighted to have signed a long term deal with such an innovative brand as Under Armour.” Keith Wyness, Aston Villa Chief Executive, said at the announcement.  “As a Club, we share similar ambitions as Under Armour and will, therefore, be able to pull together to get us back to the top tier of English football, where we belong.”

‘Fight Like Lions’ will be the cry for the first year of the campaign as they try and earn a promotion back to the Premier League on their first attempt.

“We are proud to partner with such a prestigious Club as Aston Villa and our new partnership marks the start of an illustrious five years for us both,” Peter Murray, Vice President Global Sports Marketing at Under Armour, added.  “As we collectively strive towards future success for Aston Villa, we’re arming the Club to truly ‘Fight Like Lions’ and get it back to where it belongs – the Premier League.”
