Arsenal completed a successful 2-game U.S. pre-season tour with wins over the MLS All-Stars and Chivas de Guadalajara but the highlight of the Gunners visit for some fans was the unveiling of their 2016/17 away and third jerseys in LA on Saturday night and Soccer365 had VIP access to the event.
The guest list included celebrity Jamie Foxx, former Arsenal player Freddie Ljungberg along with an exclusive group of local Gunners fans.
The Academy Award winner was decked out in Puma with the Arsenal 16/17 Home Stadium Jacket, a Puma shirt, and a pair of white-red Puma’s Sky II Hi FG sneakers. For parts of the event, Foxx had an Arsenal scarf draped around his neck.
He posted on Instagram: “Great time tonight with @PUMAFootball @Arsenal. Bring on the new season #ForeverArsenal.”
Hector Bellerin, Santi Cazorla and Nacho Monreal were on hand to model the club’s 2016/17 jerseys. Bellerin wore the away jersey, Monreal was decked out in the third jersey and Cazorla showcased the 2016/17 Arsenal Home Jersey unveiled in London last month.
The unveiling drew cheers from the crowd but the enthusiasm was mutual.
“It’s always nice to meet our fans wherever we travel,” Monreal said at the event. “It’s clear to see they have such passion for Arsenal no matter how far away from us they are. We enjoy these events that brings us closer to them, and it’s an opportunity to thank them for their support.”
Arsenal look to improve on their 2nd place Premier League finish last year to win the 2016/17 EPL title which would be their first league title since the 2003/04 season. The open their campaign against Liverpool on August 14 followed by a fixture against last season’s champions, Leicester City, on August 20.
The Arsenal 2016/17 away and third jerseys along with other gear is available at World Soccer Shop.
