Arsenal fans – a group inspired by the successes of the Gunners although some wish Arsene Wenger would spend more – have reason to celebrate this holiday. The club sit in 4th place on the table and most are starting to believe they may have a deep enough team to compete for the silverware.
Wenger’s sides have always been known to play the beautiful game. They bring a more ‘European’ approach to the English game. This remains true this season but added to the mix is a hard fighting, durable spirit that has helped them salvage points when it seemed unlikely.
Second-half substitute Olivier Giroud put a powerful header past David De Gea in the 89th minute to steal a point from Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday. It was the 3rd time this season, they have scored late to claim points. In those matches, Arsenal took the full points.
It may not seem like much at the moment but points stolen late in games will be much bigger as the season winds to the finish line.
Arsenal always look good in their classic home jersey. The red body with white sleeves is unmistakable and the 2016/17 home jersey has its unique calling cards with the most notably being the darker red vertical stripe down the center of the jersey. The home training top is bold with its horizontal bands created with different shades of red and some diagonal striping. The use of grey detailing puts the this piece over the top. The 2016/17 away jersey takes a similar silhouette as the home jersey using a gold body and blue sleeves. To set it apart the away jersey features darker gold pinstripes on the body and cuff created with more gold pinstriping. The 2016/17 away training top reverses the home training top by using gray as the primary color with the gold used as a detail. The Gunners are no strangers to European competition having advanced to the Champions League group stage an astounding 18 consecutive years. The 2016/17 third jersey is navy with fluorescent yellow detailing. The 2016/17 Training Fleece has navy on the shoulders and upper chest with a fluorescent yellow bottom.
