PUMA released the evoSPEED 1.3 (available here) a couple days after the end of the 2014 World Cup. Since then the boot has been spotted on the feet of several professionals during the European pre-season. It’s also the first choice boot of MLS’ers such as Arsenal and France legend Thierry Henry.
Look for the likes of Olivier Giroud, Sergio Agüero, Marco Reus, Radamel Falcao and Antoine Griezmann to be lighting up the pitch in the Premier League, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and more over the next nine months.
Here is an up-close look at what PUMA calls the Prism Violet/Flou Yellow/Scuba Blue version of the evoSPEED 1.3. It was taken by our team using one of our trial pairs of the boot.
Now in its third iteration since being introduced in 2012, the evoSPEED 1.3 is one of PUMA’s statement soccer products and only boot in the speed silo. It is also an integral part of the firm’s new Forever Faster campaign headlined by Usain Bolt.
Designed with speed in mind, the evoSPEED 1.3 sees the introduction of a brand new upper material , a reworked footbed and a support system highlighted by an external PUMA Web Cage.
Arsenal midfielder scored a goal and was integral in the build-up to two more during the Gunners’ 2014 Community Shield win over Manchester City last weekend. Many more are expected from evoSPEED 1.3 wearers this season.
