Monaco veteran Camel Meriem says he sees big days ahead for Freddy Adu, despite the American only being used sparingly thus far on the season.

The U.S. international has played six times since arriving on loan from Benfica, but his midfield elder believes it's only a matter of time before he makes a real impact at Stade Louis.

"He is a super player, very strong with a very good left foot," Meriem told Sport. "For the moment, he is discovering that the French championship is not easy for him."

"It takes time to adapt, but with time, everything will be better for him," he added. "In any case, he has the potential to become a player of very high standard."
