Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill was of the mind to crow over the summer signing of American keeper Brad Guzan, who showed his worth in their UEFA Cup win over Slavia Prague on Thursday.
The former Chivas USA twice agreed to the Villa Park move before finally gaining a UK work permit, and his shutout performance away to the Czech battlers had his coach very grateful.
"I think he's a great goalkeeper in the making," O'Neill told reporters. "I'm delighted he got his work permit."
"I thought he was brilliant," he said of Guzan's Prague show. "We're delighted the things we saw in him when he was in America have come out."
