The Netherlands’ most accomplished side, AFC Ajax unveiled their 2016/17 away jersey this past weekend in the Eredivisie season finale. Ajax were on the receiving end of a dramatic turn of events on the final day of the league Sunday, as PSV Eindhoven walked away with the crown. The thirty-three time Eredivisie champions drew 1-1 at De Graafschap, while PSV won to earn the title. Despite the disappointment, Ajax and adidas’ latest away kit is a very slick look.
The latest clash jersey for Ajax comes in navy and dark blues with light blue. The collar at the neck is a navy crew style, with a light blue stripe at the back. The sleeves have a lighter shade of dark blue, with light blue adidas three-stripes on the shoulders, and navy and light blue trim at the cuffs.
The main design on the jersey are the three grunge-styled St. Andrew’s crosses displayed vertically, like Amsterdam’s coat of arms.
Ajax’ emblem is monochrome in light blue with three stars above it, with a matching light blue adidas logo across from it on the chest.
Completing the kit, light blue shorts with navy three-stripes on each side and navy socks with dark and light blue trim, also navy three-stripes take up the legs. Ziggo returns as the main shirt sponsor.
The 2016/17 AFC Ajax away jersey will be available at World Soccer Shop.
