adidas signed a huge $1.3 billion shirt sponsorship deal with Manchester United last summer but the German apparel company has not been overly impressed with the Red Devils style on the field.  Well not when it comes to the results on the field.

“Business with Man United is going very well, we sell more shirts than expected,” Herbert Hainer, the chief executive of adidas, told Suddeutsche Zeitung. “We are satisfied … even if the current playing style of Man United is not exactly what we want to see.”

Louis van Gaal side has dropped to 5th on the Premier League table with only 1 win in their last 7 league matches.  The run of form has the Dutch tactician on the hot-seat despite his claims that their last matches have included a ‘riskier approach.’

Adidas signed a 10-year deal as Manchester United’s technical sponsor last summer replacing Nike after 13-years at Old Trafford.
