adidas add yet another edge boot to their Limited Collection with the launch of the second generation of adizero 99g cleats, the world’s lightest soccer boots.
Set to take a place beside the Speed of Light pack, the newest iteration of adidas 99g showcases an updated look in clean white with solar red applications. The adidas performance logo will now stand out on the outer face of the upper and the soleplate shines on chromed platinum that fades into red as it reaches the front of the shoe.
However, the most striking feature of the cleats resides in their weight, reduced to half of the market average thanks to the use of a 1mm polyamide outsole and a one-layer PU mesh-bassed upper material. An internal skeleton structure provides support, stability and protection.
The soleplate features an unique configuration of studs designed to be responsive and deliver unrivaled traction for the fastest on the field.
The first version was launched back in 2015, created in the adizero speed range to show adidas’ commitment to product innovation. Both models have been put under rigorous testing for tear strength and abrasions.
Just 299 pairs will be available globally, each of them marked on the heel. Stay tuned to World Soccer Shop’s twitter account to find out when you’ll have a chance to get your own pair.
