The latest boot in adidas’ Predator Revenge Pack is the highly-anticipated remake of the adidas Predator Accelerator.
The boot originally debuted in 1998, and was showcased by top players during that year’s World Cup in France. Legendary player Zinedine Zidane scored twice in the final with those boots, a French victory over Brazil, bringing global popularity to his footwear in the process.
Many of the boots’ original features have been retained for the remake. Appearing in black and a bright red with unique white adidas stripes, the boots feature asymmetrical lacing, a first for adidas when the original was released.
A big red tongue, another notable feature from the original boot, has returned. The rubber upper has been resigned at the front, near the toes.
The old adidas Equipment logo appears at the back of the boots, at the heel. The bottom has a bright red translucent soleplate and white tips at the heel. The outsole has the current Predator Instinct design and features.
Older fans will have a nostalgic feeling of seeing this very popular boot remade during the Predator silo’s 20th anniversary, while newer and younger fans will finally have a chance to see this classic look for themselves. Although the boots are available today, there will be only 1,825 pairs that will be sold globally.
