adidas players are #allin for Brazil! A recent tweet from the 3-stripes showed the Netherlands’ Arjen Robben, Spain’s Diego Costa, and Brazil’s Dani Alves holding bloody hearts. The campaign also included Portugal’s Nani and Germany’s Lukas Podolski.

The campaign was intended to convey the message that they players were willing to leave everything on the field when battling for their country but it was not met with universal support, including from Four Paws.
“If this was supposed to be some sort of PR stunt, then it misses the point,” an unnamed spokesperson from Four Paws told Yahoo! News. “It’s bad enough that animals are slaughtered for food, but to parade a heart, dripping blood and gore, is hardly a good way to advertise a sporting goods firm.”
The players were holding cow hearts in the photo shots. Podolski stood behind the #allin campaign saying ‘(the ad) just shows my promise to give my heart in our bid to win the World Cup.’
The campaign even had twitter followers questioning it with some comments like ‘Gross,’ ‘How are they living if there hearts are in their hands,’ and ‘this is the most ridiculous photo I have ever seen’ to list a few.
What do you think of the campaign? Did it miss the mark or was it just mis-understood?
