Indoor soccer gets an increase in players during the winter months as outdoor players flock to the small sided indoor games to keep their touch on the ball. This year adidas has provided a ‘boost’ to the game by introducing their new Boost technology to soccer.
The new advantage comes in the form of the adidas Freefootball Boost Messi (Core Black/Granite/Power Red). The look is very minimal, especially when compared to some of the other branded Messi footwear. It is very much the appropriate traditional look of adidas to launch a new technology.
The upper is made from synthetic leather at the forefoot with a synthetic suede overlay and mesh housing on the mid-foot and heel. The Messi logo is on the heel and on the inserts.
Soccer players who hit the roads or tracks are most likely familiar with the Boost technology. It was unveiled in running shoes in 2013. The Boost technology provides the latest in cushioning and energy return than any other foam material. The Boost outsole is made up of 1,000’s of capsules that store and release energy. The end results allows the sole to cushion the landing and in turn use this energy to propel the next step. It performs consistently and does not lose the cushioning over time, like EVA.
The Boost technology is designed to provide ‘springy cushioning that acts like a trampoline’ to the player’s feet. This is an ideal feature for the firm surfaces of the indoor game.
The adidas Freefootball Boost Messi (Core Black/Granite/Power Red) is available at World Soccer Shop.
