With the adidas Sport Performance Store in SoHo, New York as the backdrop, AC Milan unveiled their 2014/15 away jersey on Wednesday. The jersey includes a special edition team logo which gives this jersey a unique look and sets it apart from other jerseys of the Rossoneri.
The jersey will make its on-field debut tomorrow when the Serie A side take on Olympiacos in the Guinness International Champions Cup.
The new logo was designed to celebrate Casa Milan, the club’s new headquarters, and its modern architectural design. The glossy logo is circular with alternating vertical bands of red-and-black with a gold outline. The team name is in gold type below the logo with the ‘AC’ in small lettering in between the ‘L’ and ‘A’ of Milan. The 1 gold star is above the logo.
The logo is not the only stand-out feature of the white jersey. The jersey features grey horizontal pinstripes on the front. The crew collar is red-and-black with a narrow hoop of black on the edge of the collar and a wider hoop of red at the seam. The red adidas 3-stripes start at the collar and run 1/2 way down the sleeve.
The bottom of the jersey mirrors the 2-color look of the collar with a wide hoop of red above a narrow black hoop at the hem. This 2-color look is also on the sleeve cuff.
The back of the jersey is solid white and has the green, white, and red colors of the Italian flag arched between the shoulders.
