The Football Federation Australia announced that apparel company BLK will provide the jerseys for the FOXTEL A-League All-Star team when they face Juventus at ANZ Stadium on August 10 in Sydney.  Former Juventus player Alessandro Del Piero will captain the All-Stars in what is likely to be his last competitive match.

“BLK are extremely excited to be the official apparel partner of the 2014 FOXTEL A-League All Stars, an event made even more special for football fans across the country as the match will draw a curtain on the amazing career of International super star Alessandro Del Piero.” BLK’s Chief Marketing Manager Jason Sintome said.

BLK sponsors more the 5,000 teams around the world but only recently started to get involved with soccer teams.  They are a major apparel sponsor for rugby sides.

“As a brand BLK has enjoyed tremendous growth, both here in Australia and internationally with our cutting edge, high performance apparel now the choice of more than 5000 teams around the world,” Sintome went on to say. “We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate our expansion into football than by supporting the very best players in Australia”

Juventus is the most decorated team in Serie A history.  The Old Lady has won 54 official trophies.  Del Piero is one of the team’s favorite sons.  The 39-year-old played 19 years with the club 11 as team captain.  He scored 290 goals in 705 matchs.

Hyundai A-League player of the year Thomas Broich of Brisbane Roar top the fan voting for the historic match.
