Nike is the technical sponsor for all 9 teams of the National Women’s Soccer League. The 2015 season kicked off on April 10 and World Soccer Shop is looking at some of the looks the teams will wear this year.
Seattle Reign FC released a new away (White, Royal Blue and Platinum) and third kit (UltraViolet) for 2015 but their home kit stayed the same. According to content manager Jenny Blakley, the players liked the new kits, and were thrilled that they launched an alternative kit this year.

“We were excited to unveil new kits for our supporters. It was great working with Nike to create the kits. They really understood our brand and have helped craft kits that that reflect the unique nature of our club,” head coach Laura Harvey said at the release.
“Each kit appealed to a different taste, one being a bit different and one being a very classic look with our club colors,” Blakley told World Soccer Shop that the overall fan reaction was fantastic. “Fans also still like and were pleased to see it staying the same.”
The Portland Thorns are off to a great start this season. Their new 2015 kits feature their primary red kit, which is the first fully custom kit in the NWSL. US National Team player Alex Morgan is still playing for the team, while Providence Health & Services is continuing as the primary jersey sponsor. From the looks of it, the Thorns are on their way to a successful season.
And a great look. The red jersey has a sublimated thorn pattern in dark red on the front and back with a white thorn sublimation down each side.
The Boston Breakers chose to reveal a new jersey for this season. Instead of a collar, they chose a simple V-neck. The away jersey remained white with the sponsor across the front in blue, while the home jersey goes from a royal blue fading into white. Like the away jersey, the home jersey also includes the team sponsor in blue, but it is outlined in white trim. The team logo is across the left side of both jerseys.
FC Kansas City had color added to the logo of their jersey sponsor, Borden, across the front. Aside from the logo, the home jersey is strictly blue with white stripes across each sleeve. The sponsorship by Borden was signed 2 years ago to be a 3 year commitment.
While the Chicago Red Stars jerseys remained the same this season, but for a good reason. They are inspired by the Chicago flag, incorporating the red, white and blue as well as the four red stars across the front. The jersey is alternating blue and white stripes with white sides.
The Houston Dash are playing their second season in the NWSL with the same jersey as last season. This year’s jersey looks the same as last year with its fiery orange and light blue stripes across each sleeve. Instead of having a collar, the jersey is also a V-neck with the Dash logo across the left side.
Like the Houston Dash, the Western New York Flash are wearing the same jersey this season.
As a surprise, Sky Blue chose to go with a ‘unique look.’ The team unveiled the 2015 home jersey at an event to announce the extension of their partnership with Meridian Health as title sponsor.
“Meridian Health has been an exceptional partner for us over the past year, and we are very pleased to continue our relationship into a second season,” stated Tony Novo, Sky Blue FC president & general manager.“Meridian Health has been an exceptional partner for us over the past year, and we are very pleased to continue our relationship into a second season.”
